Who cares? Show me anything Jesus said that means I have to be able to answer that, or even care about it. Show me any discussion where Jesus said my take on the Genesis story is important to my salvation.
Don’t give me that trite “not wise” crap.
This kind of talk is characteristic of people who want to glorify how well they think about God.
Mt 19:1 And it came to pass, [that] when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;
Mt 19:2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.
Mt 19:3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
Mt 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made [them] at the beginning made them male and female,
Mt 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
Mt 19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
the beginning?
Male and Female?
Need anything else?
These passages not only cover Creation, they cover marriage and Jesus speaks against homosexuality, too
Mk 10:1 And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judæa by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.
Mk 10:2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away [his] wife? tempting him.
Mk 10:3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
Mk 10:4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put [her] away.
Mk 10:5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
Mk 10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
Mk 10:7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
Mk 10:8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
Mk 10:9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
If you can’t trust the Bible’s account of creation, then you can’t trust its account of the Fall, which is the whole reason Jesus even came to earth later. Deciding to believe only parts of God’s word and to dismiss others as false is a dangerous road to embark on. After all, Numbers says that “God is not human, that he should lie.” If God wasn’t telling the exact truth here, then why should we believe anything else he says?
