I have met (and had the misfortune to work with) entirely too many degreed or titled kooks, buffoons, and idiots to be particularly impressed with a Who’s Who entry or a piece of sheepskin.
Her proposed etymology is at odds with every other, is derived from a dodgy source (Masonic mythology), and has all the earmarks of a false cognate.
But you choose to believe her ... why I cannot imagine.

Of course, this does not address Canaanite recognition of sun god in particular, whether their obelisks had sun god symbols on them, etc.
