Or pretending to be Roman Catholics to discredit them...
That's a possibility but, having been through the wash, I believe it is likely that most were truly Catholics, just as they are on this thread.

I read it as agreeing with Resettozero that I was referring to only to Protestants.
No courtesy ping?
(You still haven't said in an understandable way who you mean by "YOU PEOPLE".)
To: plain talk
I haven’t noted that to be true but if any Catholic says that then they are as wrong as anyone else saying “you aren’t saved unless you accept Christ as your savior”, as posited by (fill in the blank with your accepted denomination).

BTW, Roman Catholics have accused fellow FReepers of much worse I agree! Well maybe not much worse but they dish it out the same at least. I have seen it here myself. Both sides have gone after each other hammer and tongs. It's disgusting.
What I am saying is STOP IT on both sides ... on all sides. There are larger threats.
But it's hopeless. I know this will go on, and on, and on. It always has.
Ordinarily I don't participate in these kinds of threads. Now I remember why.

You keep Christ your way so good for you. Your describing what Catholics believe; I just thought Catholics might have a better idea of that than you.

Please give him the benefit of the doubt. Everyone is free to believe whatever he/she chooses, aren’t we? It is still Free Republic, is it not?
You don’t have to agree with what he posted...
“I believe that Catholicism has caused more people to go to hell then Islam”
...but what about his right to believe and post this on FR?
To: onyx
Leading peoples attention off of Christ is counter to scripture and condemned onyx. There is no way around that. Focusing on Mary and the "saints" is taking what belongs to Christ alone and giving it to them. Christ didn't pussy foot around error and neither will I.

As onyx once posted in a graphic (paraphrasing here)... The intelligent ones don't post here on the Religion forum.
Guess you and I are both disqualified from her "intelligent" classification.
To: Lorianne
Yes I did.
Okay. To the best of your ability, you responded repeatedly but not in a way that I can understand.
My bad.

>>But Christ did LITERALLY say that.<<
He literally said He was a door and a lamb also omegatoo. He also literally said rivers of water would flow from your belly. He literally told John, Ezekiel, and Jeremiah to "eat the scroll". And He literally said "do not eat the blood".

Admit it; you miss it when you are away.

I have but they are “Catholics” who have a cultural connection with Catholicism and no practical participation. They may have been baptized but never attended church beyond that. So they say they are Catholic. My DIL was like that.
She was baptized and had her 1st Communion and attended midnight Mass every year and that was the extent of her participation and education.
I got she and her sister to attend RCIA and they are now active Catholics.
Years afterward the sister worked at a prison and her boss was severely anti-Catholic they had an ongoing discussion which was often, on his part, vicious. He later got fired (not because of that but allegations of fraud and he went downright crazy. The boss she has now is also Catholic.

Perhaps you need to work on your reading comprehension skills.

Muslims can only kill the body. Wrong teaching can kill the soul.
Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

And He literally said "do not eat the blood".
Sometimes, I wonder if some of these strident RCs are hearing the true Gospel preached anywhere other than here on FR.

Probably. Sometimes I look at the long-winded non-answers and just come up with a blank look on my face.
Thanks for the good suggestion. (Now, HOW do I work on that...?)
To: CynicalBear
Let’s go. I’m sick of this ridiculous charge against Christ and His Church. Cite your Scripture for the prohibition against eating the blood.
