That is because without that magic bread Rome is "just another church"
There are many RC's the stay in that church because they really believe that Rome has something no one else has.. a priest that is jesus and that he can give them his body to eat..
That means they can be holy by just chewing a piece of a cracker.. that they can "know " jesus is a special way by eating him...
You know cannibals believe that when they rat someone they assume some of the charastics of that person...and so it is with Rome
