So what is the Roman Catholic Church's real title???

The term "Roman Catholic" was invented by Anglicans (Protestants, that is), who wanted to claim that they were "Catholic," but not "Roman" (by which they meant not in obedience to the See of Rome).

The Church simply calls herself the Catholic Church. "Catholic" comes from the Greek for "of the whole" ... the Church for the whole human race.

Byzantine Catholics (who, unlike the Anglicans, *are* in obedience to the See of Rome) aren't going to answer to "Roman Catholic" because they aren't "Roman," they're Greek.

I have a much bigger problem with this quote:

What did the Lord Jesus say about calling men by this title (Matthew 23 :9)? -----------------------------------------

No man on earth should be called "father" except your earthly father.

Except that is NOT what the Lord Jesus said. Don't tell me you believe in the literal interpretation of Scripture, and then paraphase Scripture as saying something different from what it actually says.

Mt 23:9 (KJV) reads:

And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Do you read any clause in there like "except for your earthly father"? It ain't in there! The man misquotes Scripture to strengthen his point; he's a false teacher.

The leaders of the church (Roman Catholic religious system) did not see a need to translate the Bible into the common language of the people.

Even the preface to the 1611 KJV admits that this is wrong. And Martin Luther said:

"We are obliged to yield many things to the Papists--that with them is the Word of God, which we received from them; otherwise we should have known nothing at all about it."

There are many other errors in this piece.

Lest I be accused of misquoting Luther, here is the actual verbatim quote (but translated):

Yes, we ourselves find it difficult to refute it, especially since we concede—as we must—that so much of what they say is true: that the papacy has God’s Word and the office of the apostles, and that we have received Holy Scripture, Baptism, the Sacrament, and the pulpit from them. What would we know of these if it were not for them? -- LW 24:304

Actually, just because you disagree with the catechism, doesnt mean the facts are wrong

it just means you disagree with the catechism

Seems that what he said..the Roman Catholic church IS RULED BY A POPE IN ROME

"We are obliged to yield many things to the Papists--that with them is the Word of God, which we received from them; otherwise we should have known nothing at all about it."

Source for this ?? Hint it is NOT " the preface to the 1611 KJV "

So do find the REAL source
