I think you hit the nail on the head. Fellowship is what is required of believers, not a membership in a mega or mini church. Why not form a fellowship of believers and go from there? Where two or more are gathered in His name, right? Might be something to pray on.

I’ve been a member of one of those mega churches for too long and am in the process of making the change for my family. We, too, are praying for a church that provides meat, as opposed to milk.

God will pull His people together. I truly believe that.

Best regards.

Agree with your meat/milk point. The larger and, consequently, more “diverse” a church gets, the more the irresistable tendency to dumb down church teaching becomes a reality. Small groups help, but most of the time, I’ve found, these are directed by the large assembly of the church as far as direction and content of teaching. A lot of it is “duh” inducing, i.e., “God loves us and has his best intentions toward us,” etc. While true, we don’t get much APPLICATION from these effectively empty platitudes.

Some of the deeper truths of God are hard to take, and strike the immature as apparent contradictions to what they’ve been taught. I love the preaching of A.W. Tozer, and am overjoyed that more and more actual recordings of his messages have been posted online. Listening to them, you just become painfully aware of how shallow and insultingly patronizing most of today’s preaching is in most churches - the “milk” that is mentioned by Paul.
