And Catholics berate us with that passage and "bring it to the church" trying to prove the church is who disciplines when that whole passage is about not allowing a person persisting in sin to meet with them after having been admonished. Now they are supposed to let them all stay because "the church was MEANT to house sinners"?

No, the church is not meant to house sinners. It's meant to house those who have repented from sin.

nope...those who have repented from sin have listened to the Catholic church and have thus repented....those who have not yet repented still need the church as do those who have left the church.

The church is for the equipping and building up of the saints to prepare them for the work of reaching the world around them. Jesus command was to GO and make disciples, not build a church building and wait for them to come in and threaten them with hell fire and damnation because they don’t submit to the church’s rules and leadership and they miss going to Sunday services.

Precious few people who aren’t saved are going to suddenly decide to go to church and get saved.

The best way to convince someone to become a Christian is through relationships, showing the love of Christ to them on a personal basis, just like Jesus did.

He went about doing good. He healed people and cast out demons and people were drawn to Him because of the love that He showed them.

The only ones He was harsh with were the religious leaders of the day, who were hypocrites.

And nothing has changed in 2,000 years. Even today the religious leaders tend to be the biggest hypocrites. There’s precious few men who can handle the fame, money, and power that comes with being in a leadership position.
