Do you ever read the Scriptures IN CONTEXT instead of only the cherry picked snippets you are allowed to? Like Augustine said, to believe on Christ is to eat his flesh and drink his blood. It is faith that gives us eternal life and we shall NEVER hunger or thirst again. Jesus is the living bread, the living water, and all those who believe on Him will HAVE everlasting life - not might have, but HAVE. We recognize the reality of what the bread and cup represent - that the Son of God became a man and physically died upon a cruel cross, shedding His precious blood in propitiation for our sins. By His blood He has made an everlasting atonement for all those who trust in Him. My salvation is sure, my Savior has secured it by His blood and given the Holy Spirit as a down payment until I go to be with Him in heaven. Jesus said of all that the Father gives to Him He would lose NONE. He will never cast us out nor can we be plucked from His hands. We can KNOW we have eternal life by the grace of God through faith in Christ. How I pray that God will open eyes and hearts to the glorious gospel!
