Scripture didn't call Mary the mother of God. Why do you?

Because Jesus is God (Second Person of the Trinity) and Mary is His mother.

Because I’m not being inconsistent.

The person I was addressing constantly declares that it’s illegitimate to use a phrase that isn’t in Scripture, and then does so.
