My dog has an alias. I named him "Spot". But, I gave him to another family to adopt and he goes by "Spoticus" now.

He has a FaceBook page with more than 1100 "friends"!

Why yes it is the name my dog uses in real life. The only thing he and I ever do on facebook is visit the Mastador page, otherwise I have no use for social media and a bunch of strangers who want to be my friend. Does my doog bite? I once had an issue with some teenage punks while walking him and one asked me that very question, I told him I don’t know no one has ever tried to hurt me and would he like to be the first, he declined. I should say my Mastador isn’t very big only 140 pounds or so.

This is a non-issue, imho.

Why would it be a non-issue? Social media as a hugely powerful tool for people who need to communicate with many other people. It is so widely used that it is almost essential. And Facebook wants them to change their names? That's a huge issue.
