Since when did valuing the voices and opinions of other people and believers become “trolling for readers”? Your logic confuses me.
Since when did the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter-Day Saints, the creation of Joseph Smith and full-owner of the Deseret News, ever "value the voices and opinions of other people and believers"? If the foundational "vision" of the parent organization states otherwise, why would the child organization believe differently, except as a ruse to gain something else in return?
I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me , they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof .
-- Joseph Smith's "First Vision", verse 19, taken from History of the [LDS] Church, Vol. 1, Chapters 1-5
