The Deseret News National Edition fills a void in the American media landscape through rigorous journalism for family- and faith-oriented audiences. Representing more than half of all U.S. news readers, this segment is consistently underserved by newsrooms that either overlook or do not report on readers' core values.

After a short hiatus, I'm back! The Deseret News National Edition (of which I am a web producer for -- and of which is owned by the LDS Church) is looking for a variety of Christian contributors (Protestant, Evangelical, Catholic, etc.) to write about faith, family and other issues that are of importance to you and your communities.
We're looking for at least one article a week from each of our contributors about issues that Christians (not Mormons) care about most. The only stipulations are that the articles are written positively (with at least a basic acceptance of faith traditions other than your own), and are written clearly and concisely. I will be your editor.
If you're interested, e-mail me at bbinowski@deseretdigital.com and sign up at www.deseretconnect.com.
If you're skeptical about me or my organization, I challenge you to experiment with us.
All the best, Brittany
All the best Brittany, but the LDS church founded by a polygamist has certainly not been open to serious critical evaluation of many of it’s literary sources. Good luck.
You're looking for bloggers and seem more than a little bit gay.
Seems legit.
Real ones, or fakey ones like Jim Wallis?
That can't happen for a true Christian.
Christians are not to be unequally yoked. By writing for Deseret a Christian would be giving tacit approval of Mormonism.
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14)

The Deseret Paper is a Mormon cult publication. I urge every Christian NOT to have any involvement with legitimizing the cult.
The devil (and/or angels) would be in the details.
This would mean you couldn’t advocate being Mormon (and even that under the assumption that Mormons are not Christians, rather than being confused Christians).
It doesn’t mean you can’t sound off about why Christ is so special to you.
Will you allow someone to write a faith article exposing common heresies of non-Christian cults in order to protect families?
The thing that trumps all is explaining how Christ is so special to you, without needing all the stuff that the LDS put into their version of His story. That goes for all troublesome variants from A to Z.
Encounters like this are a test. As long as it is easier to think of ways to damn than ways to bless, you never will do very much to please your Lord.

Based on Scripture, I don’t believe Christians have any business getting in bed with the Mormon church. Christians should witness to them, not pretend they are fellow Christians. Deseret might let a Christian write about how special Christ is, but I rather doubt they will allow a Christian to actually share the gospel with their Mormon readers.
And again you may be begging the question about what “getting in bed” is.
Sometimes the phobia that one might, somehow, sin can become so paralyzing that a mighty door for a simple testimony is simply ignored. And this is a mighty illustration of it.
And yet your method is so different than the approach the Apostle Paul used...
And perhaps you are ignoring the Biblical command for separation.
As I said, you believe and do as you will. I happen to be both a Christian and a published writer. I know writers from coast to coast from a variety of Evangelical denominations. I have discussed almost precisely this scenario with other writers who are serious about their faith. Most would never allow cults to use them to propagandize false religion.
IOW, the Deseret News, which is owned by the Mormon Church, is trolling for Christian readers. No thanks.

DING! DING! DING! WE HAVE A WINNER!!!
(with at least a basic acceptance of faith traditions other than your own)...
Does that include acceptance of jihad?
I have a great idea for an article about how the LDS church redefines and perverts traditional Christian vocabulary to suit their own theology. Is this something you’d be interested in? Let’s talk rates.
Don’t say I never think about you. Here ya go.
