Cathedral dean says he wants to make marchers 'stop and think'
Cologne Cathedral will turn off its lights on Monday evening in protest against an anti-Islamic march in the German city.
A group called Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West (Pegida) is organising the march, which is the latest in a series of demonstrations in Germany. A recent march in Dresden attracted an estimated 17,000 people.
Fr Norbert Feldhoff, dean of Cologne Cathedral, told Reuters: Pegida is made up of an astonishingly broad mix of people, ranging from those in the middle of society to racists and the extreme Right wing.

Why not just erect a minaret?
More extreme things are happening in this country.
However, if I told you everything, I doubt you would believe me .
Amazing the one group that openly supports the continuation of that cathedral’s existence as a Christian church is the one being stiff-armed.
Absolutely. that is their M.O.
And let’s not forget:
The Church of John The Baptist in Damascus
The Cave of Machpelah
The Temple Mount
The national Cathedral
Ground Zero NYC
Flight 93 memorial, Shanksville PA
Cordoba
Hagia Sophia
And the dozens of little churches across America that have been turned into mosques
To retreat in the face of evil islam, to oppose those who protest the evil, why not just leave the lights off and abandon the city?
They might want to look around the Middle East to see what is happening to Christians beer they decide.
Th German Church is evidently becoming quite Kasperlite. IAC, it is taking the lead of the Government, as might be expected of a department of that government.
Glad I saw the Cologne Cathedral before it became a mosque.
