Today's Scripture
Be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished. (I Chronicles 28:20, ESV)
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Fear not. That is the message David had for his son, Solomon. For many years, David wanted to build a temple for the Lord. But God told Him that specific job belonged to his son, Solomon. Solomon was young and inexperienced, and even though he knew he had a mandate from God, he was intimidated by the prospect of building a great house of worship, one that would be a dwelling place for the Most High. You can probably understand his apprehension.
But his father David had some good advice for him. He told his son, Forget your fear. God is bigger than your problems. He is bigger than the temple you are going to build. He is bigger than any adversity that you might face. So just get busy and do your part and God will do the rest.
Perhaps as this new year approaches, you have some changes that need to be made. Maybe you need a renovation in your marriage, finances, health, or emotions. Whatever your individual needs may be, notice the words of David, Be strong and courageous, and do it. Fear not, be not dismayed, for the Lord God, my God, is with you.
A Prayer for Today
God, Im excited to see what You have planned for me this year. Whatever I face, I will not be intimidated. I will begin this year by seeing myself as You do happy, healthy, and prosperous. Thank you for the gift of another year. In Jesus name, Amen.
You may worship Olsteen if you wish, but don’t be surprised if not many FReepers follow you.
As far as I understand, FR is basically Jim’s own living room.
Are you saying you would drop copies of the jehovah’s (False) witnesses “watchtower” magazine on his coffeetable, and not expect him to:
(A) throw them away, or,
(B) allow someone to criticize your rudeness?
First time I’ve ever seen more than one post on these threads. And the only post is “No debate allowed.”
Yep. I think what we’re seeing here tonight is common sense coupled with moral sense.
“First time Ive ever seen more than one post on these threads. And the only post is No debate allowed.”
It caught my eye as well that there was more than the usual 1 comment on this daily Osteen thread, so I decided to see why....
Victoria has beautiful cankles.
Unlike the non-devotionals here, I’ve got a fever and the only prescription is more Osteen!
I hope the Religion Moderator will provide guidelines on the proper use of the Devotional flag. (I can't find the post in which that account posted those often quoted words.)
a cartoon is worth a thousand words
Ha! Even The Bat is ticked off at the fraud osteen kid!
“Perhaps as this new year approaches, you have some changes that need to be made. Maybe you need a renovation in your marriage, finances, health, or emotions.”
Or perhaps you are president of the United States and desire to fundamentally transform America. If so, the author of this piece, thinks you’re “doing a great job!”
I wonder if Mr. Rogers would qualify for a devotional thread after all he was a presbytrian minister.
“I like you just the way you are.”
That was horrible!!! PUKE!!! How can any sane person not see the osteen kid for the fraud that he is!!? I do not get it!
How can anyone with a lick of sense support that guy? He was lying through his teeth.
Wow. The Osteens just love them some racist, white-hating, America-hating, nation-destroying, anti-God, homo-loving Communists. Can’t stop praising them.
Sickening.
What the hell is a “Religion Moderator”?
Sorry, but your type of piety does Not seem to demand any respect from me, or any one else.
“Osteen” means nothing to me. Anyone who would try to make money off of the Word is a loser in any event.
Take your “devotionals” and head on over to DU or the latest anti-whatever cult and make your case. Not here. We are not buying it.
I see you are the “target” for today? LOL! I guess word is out it is okay to come and attack you for posting something one may not agree with. So instead of just ignoring the thread, like I do with other Religious threads, they have this overriding need to come on here and say mean things to a fellow Conservative.
I hate to see “piling on” here at FR. I have seen it many, many times, it reminds me to much of middle-school.
Whether I agree with Mr.Osteen is not the point.
Happy New Year....also, love your homepage...
