I fully agree with the rest of what you said but I believe to love your neighbor is to treat them like you would like to be treated in the same situation

If they are hungry take them some beans.
If they are in need of help do what you can.

James 2
5 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

Let them see your faith by your works.

I don’t disagree with you in the least. I’m just saying that in sacrificing to those who hate us, we don’t give up the Gospel, which has two parts: We are sinners, and there is a God who saves sinners.
