Yet you believe your private interpretation is correct and mine is wrong.
I don't believe you will find much in the way of Jesus talking about his church in the Old Testament...Your church history is corrupt...So yes I would reject a lot of things...
And BTW, I'm a bible believer, not a bible interpreter...You people should just believe the scriptures and count on God for the understanding instead of trying to interpret the things you don't understand or that don't fit your theology...
You won’t find much because your eyes and ears are shut.
My church is corrupt? And what about you? Easy to point fingers when you are your own Pope isn’t it? It’s so nice to meet someone who is perfect, it further tells me of your own conceit. I suppose you could say the same about Christ, since he had a Judas in his midst. If you remember from scripture there are always going to be corrupt men in every age until the end of time, when Christ will separate the sheep from the goats. Same as the Old Testament, does the name Saul ring a bell? Even King David had a few scandals along the way but the Israelites were still the people of God. Are you telling me there are no corrupt protestant ministers? Again, it’s easy to sit back and point fingers when your “church” is your living room couch.
You are most certainly a Bible interpreter. The most obstinate, proud kind. You even mention such in the last paragraph, “count on God for the understanding.” So, every man interprets scripture for himself to whatever “feelings” he has.
This article is written by a protestant who essentially is saying the same thing.
And if my Church is corrupt that leaves you in quite a precarious situation since the Bible you have in your hands was given to you through the Catholic Church. As much as some do their best to erase history.
It amazes me that some folks can completely shut their eyes to 2000 years of Church history and act as if the Bible suddenly appeared out of nowhere sometime around the year 1600.
Excellent.....
Interpreting gets you the immaculate conception, the perpetual virginity, calling priests *Father*, praying to Mary and Saints, etc.
