There are too many verses in the Bible that describe the exact opposite of that statement— makes the whole essay suspect. I guess I’m supposed to substitute what ever anyone writes for scripture.

Yeah, while I agree with the author somewhat, I find his emphasis on experiential Christianity a little unnerving. EVERYTHING must be tested against Scripture, and I have seen what emotionally-led Christianity can do to others. Holy Spirit-led Christianity will always take us back to the Scriptures.

Yes. The whole essay is a suspect.

It’s like a house that seems nice and solid, but is actually off center and slanted and the corners don’t quite meet.

I view it like this. Jesus is the Word. He is the physical embodiment of every jot and tittle. INCLUDING the Old Testament. To know Him I have to read the whole Bible. There is so much about the life of Jesus in the Old Testament and especially His return and rule as the Great King that Billy really needs to read the whole thing.
