Funny, Jesus spoke about repentance, judgment, turning from sin, tribulation, bearing crosses. He would not be allowed in most churches, including Joel Osteen’s. He was much too negative. How do I know? His Word is never opened during the sermon...only used as a pre-sermon mantra prop!

Osteen encourages the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

What did God say to the rich man who built bigger and better barns in which to store his harvest?

What did Jesus say to the Laodicean church who thought they were rich, had prospered, and had need nothing, not realizing that they were wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked?

Man cannot love God and money, and it’s not about being *happy* and materially *prosperous*. It’s about the joy of the Lord and our soul prospering.

Riches are deceitful and with the way I see people handling money, I doubt that very many would handle it correctly if God gave it to them.

Jesus told us that in this world we would have tribulation, but to be of good cheer, that He had overcome the world.

HE never promised us health, wealth, and prosperity. That’s a deceit from the enemy to take our eyes off Christ.

Additionally, let’s see how Osteens message applies to those parents in Iraq who watched ISIS behead their children for not renouncing Christ?

Was God not blessing them? Did they fail to *confess* success and proclaim and walk in the prosperity God had for them?

Osteen’s message appeals to the flesh with its promise of material prosperity in this world.

Whatever happened to *Godliness with contentment is great gain*? All Osteen does is preach a message that encourages discontent and an entitlement mentality.
