True. I never interpret scripture. I read what it says and I explain it to you.
Alex, I am glad you finally admitted you can't interpret what the Bible says. You say you are just telling me what it says. Hello. That is interpreting it. You are not allowed to do that. It is obviously interpreting, because I don't agree with your interpretation of James, the half brother of Jesus, the natural son of Mary and Joseph, who went on to have a normal married life together. You do not seem to get who Jesus' half brother was writing to. We will have to agree to disagree. See you at the pearly gates😄😃
Guys, I wake up this morning and see a bunch of new threads. I can't keep up with it all, but I will try.
I am a confirmed Catholic and as such I have not only the ability but also an obligation to explain what the Scripture says and generally what the Holy Catholic Church teaches generally. They are not private interpretations similar to how Protestant charlatans interpret the Holy Scripture. If I say something that contradict the teaching of the Church, I will be corrected by fellow Catholics and I will study what the truth is and from that point on I will teach that.
Protestantism has a culture of contorting the scripture and of ignoring it. Please do not make the assumption that because you are used to seeing Protestant pastors engage in private interpretations of scripture, that everyone does it.
Got that from your 1933 reinterpretation of Christianity group did you??? Wow, how easy it is for these fly by night groups to entice Christians from Christ to them.....sad
