The Greek word used there is ἐστε and is a verb in the present tense in the active voice. Paul also said it here:
Ephesians 2:5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved.
Those who have been saved are in Christ.
2 Corinthians 1:21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us,
Those who have been saved will not face condemnation in any judgement.
Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
The Catholic Church lies to it's followers in order that they might be beholden to them. Catholics would be wise to study scripture rather then parroting the false teachings of that church.
When references to salvation are in the past, they refer to the process of salvation that started at the Cross. I gave you sufficient quotes that show that the process of salvation is not complete yet till death and judgment.
