no it wasn't...the early church soon became known as the Catholic church...same church, same people...just gradually be came known as Catholic...as early as the end of the first century....nothing changed except the adoption of their eternal name.

only took a three hundred years for the transformation to be complete to what we have today - though they continued to alter the Gospel and doctrines.

BTW, back then, no one lived three hundred years. I think you are remembering the time of Methuselah.
