Jeremiah 7:18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
Who was that "queen of heaven"?
Jeremiah 44:17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done,
Who was that "queen of heaven"?
Ezekiel 8:13 And He said to me, "Yet you will see still greater abominations which they are committing." 14 Then he brought me to the entrance of the north gate of the house of the LORD, and I saw women sitting there, mourning the god Tammuz.
Who was Tammuz the son of?
If you don't know the answers to those questions how do you know what to avoid that God called "abominations"? "Bunk" you say?
Regarding Jeremiah 7:18 and 44:17 you quoted, I was hoping you'd answer your twice asked question: "Who was that "queen of heaven"?".
According to Wiki, "Jeremiah was called to prophetic ministry in c. 626 BC".
At that point in our story, Jesus is but a Promise to be fulfilled and He is the only reason there could or will be a Queen of Heaven, as I understand the math.
Therefore, I haven't a clue who that "queen of heaven" those women were making cakes for could be in their eyes, but I don't see how it could be Mary or anything but a construct of their own, and therefore a false idol.
Obviously, His Mother, Mary, has not yet been created nor chosen by God and He obviously hadn't been born.
Just curious why you bring up those Jeremiah quotes and apply them to Jesus' Mother well before Mary even existed. It's confusing to me.
