Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Here, very early in the Bible, we see a War unfolding in the Middle East! Kings in the area form alliances and attack each other over the issues of territory, tribute, and power. A Hostage Situation involving Lot and his family arises and Abram is obliged to take action. In this brief passage, we find out several things about Abram.

He is a Man Of Action with strong family ties and a Profound Sense of Justice. Lot was no longer his responsibility, yet Abram puts together a tiny army of 318 mean uses either superior tactics or incredible courage to defeat an alliance of several armies and free all the hostages.

Abram is a generous person and does not loot his defeated enemy. This was unheard of in the Ancient World!

Finally, Abram receives confirmation that he is Chosen of God, as administered by the Mysterious King Melchizedek ( whose name means "King of Righteousness"), and to Whom Abram pays a tithe of all he owns. There are speculations that Melchizedek was actually a Manifestation of God Himself in the form of a "Theophany", or perhaps an Angel, since he has no genealogy and is given the tribute of the Tithe, which should only go to God. In any case, we have these qualities to add to Abram's Resume:
Intelligence,
Courage,
Tactical Ability,
Generosity,
and Piety.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

This Symbol Represents Christians in The Middle East, who desperately need our Prayers.

Hallelujah and Amen
