God bless you for even bothering to participate in these hideous, hateful threads.

Baptism doesn’t cause salvation.

The only sin Christ mentions in John 16:9 that God the Father condemns anyone in the world is disbelief in Christ.

You're missing the point. The New Testament Greek uses Theos for our word God. The point is not in what language is used but who is being referred to. Who is that deity that the word you use represents. In the Old Testament the word for our God is elohim. In Isaiah 41:13 God said that He was their elohim. The word for false gods is elohim. Our God said do not serve other elohim.

We say we serve God. The Muslims say they worship Allah which is simply their word for god. We know that when they say Allah they are referencing someone other than the God we reference.

In the same way, some people say they worship God. But the God they worship has different attributes and qualities than our God. The Mormons claim they worship God. But their God does not have the same attributes of our God. The Catholics say they worship God. But the God they serve didn't say that Mary was "queen of heaven". Nor did He tell us to pray to either Mary or so called Saints and ask them to perform specific tasks.

So your attempt to explain the language thing was both right and wrong. Sure we can use local language. But the meaning behind that language needs to be a new understanding of what the word means. None of that is the same as incorporating pagan practices into the worship of the one true God.

God specifically said not to incorporate the way the pagans worshipped their gods into worship of Him. The Catholic Church has also said that they DO incorporate those things because they were "beautiful". The use of statues would be one prime example of that.

>>You have to examine the matter more closely, to see if the “element” is harmonious with the deposit of Faith which comes to us from the Apostles.<<

Then please show where the apostles taught the use of graven images.

Then why protest on a thread about Catholics and nonCatholic Christians finding unity in Messiah ?

Loaded question. Will you please bug someone else now?

>>You will find yourself not allowed to plant a garden, weave a tapestry, educate a daughter, name the days of the week or the months of the year with non-Biblical names, use a non-Hebrew calendar, compete in an athletic contest, write a love letter, put a statue in a cemetery or flowers on a grave.<<

Why do Catholics use those attempts at obfuscation? Which one of those did you propose we use in our worship of God?

The RC’s always resort to the fallback of *It’s not official Catholic teaching* as if that means anything because we all can see what is in reality happening.

There’s a huge disparity between what the church officially teaches and what if widely practiced and it’s not hard to see.

Those prayers are worship of Mary, nothing less. Committing oneself to her for their eternal salvation. Worship.

And it’s not going to end well.

The level of deception and denial demonstrated in those who deny what is patently obvious to the most causal observer is staggering in its magnitude. It can only be demonic to be that encompassing.

“Baloney. Mental semantic gymnastics serving no purpost.”

This shows who’s doing the mental gymnastics:

1) “Without backup for your claims, you post a south park video??”
2) “No, of course I didn’t” [say it was a South Park video]
3) “You will see you fell for my wording so I could find out what the video was about.”

“Facts is facts.”

Boy, are they ever. See above.

“I asked a simple question, explained quite clearly in more that one post to you.”

Simple? You did this: “You will see you fell for my wording so I could find out what the video was about.” That’s not simple. There’s a word for it, but it isn’t “simple”.

“Double baloney. No it doesn’t.”

Add some cheese and you might have a sandwich. What you won’t have is an explanation that works.

“It means you have no backup for your claims.”

What you posted - “you fell for my wording” - says it all.

“No I didn’t, I asked you a question. From watching your posts it seemed you would post a South Park video. Just a guess.”

“you fell for my wording” shows it wasn’t just a question or a guess.

“Then my eyes glazed over as you continued with the convoluted sematic gymnastics which you already posted.”

Nothing I said shows as much “convoluted sematic [sic] gymnastics” as “you fell for my wording”.

“I would have added as nausem if I knew how to spell it.”

Suddenly your “you fell for my wording” mojo has failed?

“And then a block of text, sorry I can’t read stuff like that, it’s too difficult when someone doesn’t use proper HTML”

It’s called a “long paragraph”. Perhaps you’ll run across one if you read a book sometime.

“I remain vindicated.”

You can’t remain what you weren’t.

You can keep digging the hole deeper. I don’t mind watching you do it. I’m patient. You’re doing all the self-defeating work here. All I have to do is post what you post.

Oh, see, most people call what it is deception or duplicity.

Still dodging the main point here I see.

Go ahead, find some posts of mine where I exhibit anti Catholic behavior.

That is what this was all about you know.

Yeah I didn’t think you could.

Continue obfuscating

“Baptism doesn’t cause salvation.”

Grace does. And God gives us that through Baptism so Peter was right when eh said, “baptism now saves you” 1 Peter 3:21

“The only sin Christ mentions in John 16:9 that God the Father condemns anyone in the world is disbelief in Christ.”

And what’s your point? How does that relate to either Baptism and salvation or the Good Thief?

It’s called a “long paragraph”. Perhaps you’ll run across one if you read a book sometime.

LOL authors know how to use proper punctuation and grammar when they right.

You will never see a block of text such as what you posted in a book, unless that book is pointing how not to write a book.

Can you be more original?

It's me that pointed out that you are digging a hole fruitlessly

I WILL not help you dig it. Learn Chinese.

Regret coming here yet? Nothing can be isolated in these swirling posts of convoluted accusations and silly denials.

It’s like fighting a nest of yellow jackets on a slippery patch of ground during a mudslide...and no handy can of gasoline to pour on it.

Thanks for the gallant efforts though. (Flailing the air, knocking down one or two and temporarily stunning them.)

Logic seems to constantly fail on these kinds of threads.

“Still dodging the main point here I see.”

Wow. You keep coming up with explanations for what you said yet you accuse me of “dodging”.

“Go ahead, find some posts of mine where I exhibit anti Catholic behavior.”

Your posts are speaking for themselves - and that isn’t helping you in any way.

“That is what this was all about you know.”

Clearly not. This is what it is about and tells us all about what is what: “You will see you fell for my wording so I could find out what the video was about.”

“Yeah I didn’t think you could.”

The first four words of that statement might be correct.

“Continue obfuscating”

Obfuscation: “you fell for my wording”

Keep digging your hole.

The Baptism to which Peter referred isn't the physical ritual. You left out the rest of the passage:
(it isn't the washing away of the filth of the flesh, but it is the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ (1Pe 3:21):
The Baptism to which Peter, therefore, refers, is the heart of man, the heart which Christ pointed out multiple times throughout His ministry that is what concerns Him.
