And yet, even after reams of Scripture are posted to show them otherwise, they STILL persist in following the things that have been shown to be error or in error.

>>Their own church admits that they are making stuff up. And they believe it anyway.<<

And in addition to that they readily admit that they incorporate paganism. What more do Catholics need to hear to wake up indeed.

No. You seem to presume that God can forgive your own sins, but not those of others.

The sin of Pride comes to mind.

Have you noticed that, for the most part, protestants don't attack each other’s religions, but singularly focus their attacks on the Catholic religon?

No need to...We have the unity that the bible speaks of in the body of Christ...The few things we disagree on have nothing to do with our salvation or our walk with the Lord...

Satan worshipers also are soley focused on the Catholic Church. I've never heard of one trying to steal a communion "wafer" from a protestant church.

That sounds like a comic book...Do you really think someone could steal Jesus and use him for nefarious reasons???

ISIS has stated that they're goal is to invade Rome and fly its flag over St. Peter's Basilica. They don't seem to be too interested in flying a flag over Canterbery Cathedral.

Of course not...They know yours is the One World Religion spoken of in scripture...Your Catholic religion will be the major religion on earth after the Rapture of the church takes place...

God's church is a spiritual church...Like you guys, they don't read the bible so they wouldn't recognize the real church...

No. God forgives the sins of anyone who comes to Him and asks for it.

You need to reread my posts because clearly something did not get through the first time around.

You seem to presume to know my heart and thoughts.

The sin of Pride and presumption comes to mind.

To whom, Joel Osteen? How much do I have to pay him for forgiveness?

Anyone who does penance never was in grace to begin with because they are not trusting Jesus to forgive their sins.

Exactly...They are trusting in themselves for their redemption...

Novelty? Have you not heard the phrase "led the captives free"?

HA! The Catholic church is the place to go for indulgences.

Something about a pot and kettle comes to mind.

I don’t think so. Catholics are still in bondage to trying to pay off their sin themselves.

Scripture is so meaningless to them...And yet, they claim they drug their religion out of the bible...

**There is no such thing as a sacrament of penance**

You need to read the Bible.

Christ gave to His Apostles and disciples and their successors power to forgive sins. He said: "Receive the Holy Spirit; whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained" (John 20:22-23).

“To whom, Joel Osteen?”

Joel who? Maybe Christ.

“How much do I have to pay him for forgiveness?”

Gotta tell you, I don’t have any experience with churches that sell things like indulgences. :-)

>>You are not considering the words of Jesus to the Apostles: “What you forgive shall be forgiven; what you bind shall be bound.”<<

That's not what it says in scripture. It says "shall have already been bound". That means that we are to proclaim what has been declared by God and the only source of our knowledge of what has already been declared in scripture. For the Catholic Church to presume to make directives to God is blasphemy.

“Christ gave to His Apostles and disciples and their successors power to forgive sins. He said: “Receive the Holy Spirit; whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained” (John 20:22-23). “

Covered this upthread. The Greek tense eliminates the interpretive possibility of your claim of the “power to forgive.”

Try as you might, you can't find a single thing in there about penance...It doesn't exist...But just for the record, show us in those sentences what you perceive as penance...
