One doesn't need a degree to determine truth from Scripture as opposed to doctrines created to justify a magisterium and entourage. AND, it is just that. One only needs rely on the Holy Spirit to teach us, which Jesus promised to all believers. Of course, that requires faith in Christ, as opposed to membership in a cult (even though it is one of the largest groups in the world). PT Barnum said it best..."you can fool some of the people all the time". Fortunately, for Christians, we are led by the Holy Spirit to be among those who are not food even some of the time!
The entire premise on which the Roman Catholic "tradition" rests is lacking in enough detail that most of the adherents will blindly accept it. Rat poison provides a good wholesome 90% food source to make it enticing, but the chemicals in that other 10% kill every time.

You know I was just thinking about this while I was at the gym this morning. even the homescrewling mafia admits you need an authority to teach. They disagree on where it should be but they recognize that you must have a teaching authority.
