ROME – On his flight back to Rome after visiting Turkey, the Roman Catholic Pontiff known as Pope Francis told reporters that Islam should not be equated with terrorism and violence–a statement that some may disagree with considering the teachings of the religion.
“On Islamophobia, it is true that when one sees these terrorist acts, not only in this region, but also in Africa, there is this reaction [of], ‘If this is Islam, I am going to get angry,'” he said. “And so many Islamic people are offended.” “Many, many [Muslims] say, ‘No, we are not this. The Koran is a book of peace. It is a prophetic book of peace. That (terrorism) is not Islam,” Francis continued...

I am no prophet, but I believe this is where we are headed...and those who denounce this will be considered “enemies of the state/religion”...;-(
The Pope, like Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, Kenneth Copeland, and all false teachers love this world! In order to maintain their positions and keep receiving the praise of men, they must compromise. Remember...if Jesus would have compromised with Satan, he could have gained the whole world! Thank God he did not do so and showed us the way to eternal life!

We’ve been so lucky to have several really, really good Popes and all in a row. I guess anyone’s luck runs out eventually?
I pray he is (again) misquoted now. Or, that he watches a little of the News and corrects the terrible, false impression the quoted statement gives
Pray for Pope Francis! We need an aware, alert, and informed defender of the Christian faith.
The man is as evil as Obama. He lumps the beheading, raping, slave holding, beastial, child killing muslims in ISIS with traditional Catholics who believe in the sacrament of marriage; the Latin Mass and Catholic doctrine with the same label -”fundamentalists”. So he dilutes the evil of Islam while demonizing faithful Catholics. So the muslims who say “this isn’t Islam” are just as virtuous as the Catholic heretics who say “this isn’t the Catholic Church” when they refer to teachings on abortion; divorce; re-marriage; homosexuality and the sacraments.
The Roman Church has always been a usurpation of the Gospel. Better than nothing...but time has come to awaken to the Truth.
Jesus/Yeshuah is Lord...and the Catholic Church is not.

I believe it is an attempt to guard against broad based bigotry and prejudice.
Probably more appropriate for him to take this position, so that narrow condemnation of specific acts carries more weight. (He has done that)
This type of statement is more concerning from political leaders, as their roles are different.
For instance, the nonsense that Hillary and Kerry have spewed in recent days.

Vatican II has happened to the Catholic Church. Francis is just the latest, greatest, and most in-your-face Modernist at the helm.

No. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Faith.
