Scott Hahn and the other former Protestants must be a real breath of fresh air for Catholics...They don’t preach like Catholics...They preach like Protestants...
A few interesting things about Scott Hahn a couple of which are; his first 3 years of preacher training were devoted to classes on philosophy which has nothing to do with the bible...Has nothing to do with God or Christianity...It’s all man’s wisdom...
Another thing is after learning some bible, he didn’t learn enough to know there are types, figures and shadows of the N.T. contained in the O.T according to his own words...
I have talked to, listened to and read numerous Protestant preachers and pastors who all knew and know about these things...
I used to listen to a couple of Presbyterian pastors on the tv years ago and they certainly had an understanding of the scriptures as well as the types, shadows thing...I could easily have set under their teaching...
You guys fawn all over Hahn yet there are likely thousands of Presbyterian teachers and preachers who are just as educated as Hahn who wouldn’t follow him to the grocery store let alone any where near a bible...
The sad thing is that apparently Hahn knows far more scripture than most all Catholics and you guys appear to look him as a demi-god or something...
One thing is clear...Out of the 71 verses in John 6, Hahn avoided about 68 of ‘em like they were a hot potato...Par for the course for those who want to lead people astray...
Hahn also claims he had no idea for year why Jesus was called the Lamb of God...That would normally seem really odd but that has never been a problem for those of us who read and believe the scriptures...
Scott Hahn is a powerful speaker with a powerful testimony...He admittedly quit studying the bible years ago (not that he ever did study the scriptures) and went exclusively with the Catholic church fathers...I have no doubt that Scott would exceptionally good at selling used cars...
So Mass according to Hahn is the continued sacrifice of Jesus AS WELL AS the marriage supper of the lamb...That’s quaint...That’s way far out there...
Rev 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Rev 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
Anyone reading these scriptures can see that the bride is all together as one...The wedding is a one shot deal...It is not individual people receiving a wafer day in and day out all over the world...Hahn weaves a pretty good story for those who don’t have a clue what the Revelation to John is talking about...
It doesn’t seem to occur to Catholics that there are a gazillion Protestants and other non-Catholics who have read your church fathers just as Hahn has and reject what he teaches based on what the rest of the book of Revelation (and the entire bible) reveals...If Hahn was right, we bible believers would all believe him, but of course we don’t...
