As you may be aware, I don't have a problem with authentic Christian tradition but I find it strange that Protestants would lapse into this heretical Catholic practice.
Was not aware before now.
Not a Protestant, except by the uniquely RCC definition that suggests that any Christian who is not a member of the RCC is a Protestant. (Another one of many blatant and conspicuous RCC teaching errors.)
Primarily, some Lutherans and some other denominations that have labeled themselves as such, are Protestant groups of churches. Not all Christian assemblies, congregations and fellowships grew out of the Lutheran and other Protestant church groups, and thus out of the RCC before that.
The RCC can change many things, but not the truth.

Not a Protestant, except by the uniquely RCC definition that suggests that any Christian who is not a member of the RCC is a Protestant. (Another one of many blatant and conspicuous RCC teaching errors.) Most non-Catholic faith communities have arisen through the nailing of theses to the door of one church and the founding of another.
A mini-reformation, if you will.
That's Protestantism in its essence, irrespective of whether the church door was Catholic or not.
