Hey I saw a C47 drop a fuel air bomb during the credits for Outbreak - so there.

The GBU-43 (”Massive Ordnance Air Blast”) was designed to be deployed from an MC-130 ...

You are off course correct.
But the equipment/technique is still called Jest Assisted Take Off.
(Plus I am clearly being a bit cheeky.)

The term "Rocket Assisted Take Off" has also been used;the terms refer to the same thing. RATO is out, JATO is in ...
I was also thinking that the C130 has a fairly low stall speed ... a skillful pilot could probably fly into a really strong headwind and achieve zero ground speed.

I don’t think the excesses of some US mega churches is related to this
This is Africa.
It could be anything......sounds like poorly built building at first glance
But on a continent where having sex with babies cures AIDs and millions are butchered with machetes and ballbats and Long Pig is still the desired main course at family BBQ for the victorious...
I guess anything is possible.

they are indeed jets (turboprops) but they pass the exhaust through turbine stages which engage a transmission rather than through a nozzle to provide momentum.

Sorry
I’m a bit slow on uptake

Turboprop is not a jet engine.
It is a turbine engine.
But a jet engine generates thrust by jet propulsion.

I understand the turbo part means jet in that instance, but the prop is the part that just doesn’t look like a jet.
