Precisely. Had they heard of them, they probably would have purchased at least one. But in any case smartphones would surely have been verboten in the camps. Otherwise, naturally, we would have heard about the whole business before the end of the war, or at least, we would have heard that the phones were verboten.

And God pops up in smaller stories too - my wife overheard an older gentleman in Walmart telling the cashier about how the other day he had gotten to the register and discovered that he had somehow lost the $20 he had in his pocket. He couldn’t pay for his stuff so he started to put it back in the basket to return it to where it came from when a woman in line behind him handed him a $100 bill and told him to have a blessed day..
