If you want to discuss Joel from different points of view, post an open thread like this one. Just don’t engage in personal attacks on other Freepers in open discussion threads. Like don’t say, for example, “Vision, you are a devil for listening to and believing in Joel.” Keep comments in the format of a general discussion about the topic in open threads.

The religion moderator doesn’t agree with every form of Christianity brought up on Free Republic. He does protect threads marked as devotional as it is a place for like-minded people to gather w/o the arrows of those who believe differently. He’s not the Pope of Free Republic.

No one at all, even Joel Osteen admirers, may post anything at all on a devotional FR thread. Posting is not allowed and all posts will be deleted by the religion moderator, even favorable ones. No one is gathering around these threads and having a moment of shared community with anybody else.

You seem to be speaking for the RM as if either you were requested to respond for the RM, you know the RM personally, or are the RM yourself. Either way, please communicate that many on FR, both RCC and non-RCC, are displeased with this protected fixture of late appearing regularly on FR and still do not approve of it's validity as a "devotional".

Finally, your quote that the RM "is not the Pope of Free Republic." gave me a smile. Tell him or her, that he or she acts like it in this one regard, against all good advice.
