Joel Osteen: Origins & Errors of His Teaching (a Film by Keith Thompson)

In my concordance, the name Joshua is shown 200 plus times in the old testament. There are no counts of Joshua in the new testament.

In my concordance, the name Jesus is shown 900 plus times in the new testament. There are no counts of Jesus in the old testament.

That seems to make sense since the oldest copy of a bible I have is a copy of the 1599 Geneva bible and it concurs.

But what has happended at some point is there are actually two Joshua verses that have snuck into the new testament, when there were none.

Those two verses are found in acts 7:45 and Hebrews 4:8 (at least). Like I said, my concordance does not reference those as Joshua.. there may be more..

Praise Yah, we have at least two witnesses (verses) in the new testament because a matter can not be decided, biblically, on the testimony of just one witness. (Deut 17:6)

In those two verses, they were originally noted as ‘Jesus’ verses.

Over time, translators have decided that those are not to be Jesus verses.

They have changed those verses to Joshua.

Now, it seems innocent enough until one realizes that Joshua is a translation/transliteration from Hebrew/Aramiac and not from the Greco/roman/Latin text.

So, in essence, what the translators did was change a Greek/roman/latin heritage word, Jesus, with a Hebrew heritage word, Joshua..
And to be fair, they didn’t retranslate it.. they simply erased the name Jesus and plugged in the name Joshua.
One could say they substituted the name Joshua for the name Jesus..

The reason why they did it was obvious but the manner in which they did it, is critical.

They read the text and knew it was reference to the Hebrew General that led Israel to the promised land. A Hebrew who was a shadow of the coming Messiah who would do the same thing for His people in the new testament.

The name joshua isnt just used in the book Joshua in the old testament..
In the prophet Zechariah, Hebrew Joshua is shown as High Priest.. and that is exactly the picture in the new testament with the Messiah being our High Priest.

That is the last time the English translated/transliterated name for Yahshua(however one spells it or pronouncess it) is given in my oldest bible.
And that was the case, until newer bible translations have included the name Joshua in Acts 7:45.

Now if translators can just ignore the Greek text and go with what is found in the translated/transliterated English version of the old testament (found a few hundred pages to their left in the bible), what is the point of saying the new testament is translated/transliterated from Greek?

Because it isn’t true for two verses.. and not just any two verses.. two verses that have the name Jesus in them..

The translators haven’t stayed true to the translation.. they have decided that those two verses can be changed..

Now, my question has been- if those two Jesus verses can be changed to Joshua, why not the other 900 verses?

And nobody can give me a good answer..
The only answer is the safest answer-tradition..

The tradition of the name Jesus, December 25 and easter is more important than asking why the name Joshua, an old testament name in their very same bible, can all of a sudden pop up in the new testament and replace the name Jesus...

On the testimony of two scripture witnesses, the name Jesus is replaceable- the translators have done it.

Now considering when one thinks of the name Joshua, one thinks of the Hebrew who leads His people to the promised land and the High Priest of the prophet ZechariYah..
Man, if that doesn’t sound like the new testament promises...

The translators goofed up.. or they did exactly what they were supposed to do because if one reads Joshua in the old testament, one can’t help but see the shadow that is cast of the New Testament Joshua..

Call him Jesus if you want..translators have given us reason to question the name Jesus on the testimony of two (scripture) witnesses..

People usually don’t start by questioning the name.. they question the holy days around the name. (December 25 and easter particularly)

When those days stop lining up with scripture, the only thing people can cling to is the name.

And the name Joshua, pulled from the Hebrew/Aramaic side of the bible, has zero to do with December 25 and easter..

Christendom starts falling apart..

I know Joshua loves me this I know, will never take off..

And black Friday and Christmas are too important for the world’s businesses.

There is no dividing Jesus from December 25 or Easter because those days are not going to be given up by the mother.. that leaven isn’t going anywhere.. it is baked in..

The only option is what scripture tells us to do when we see it:

Come out of her.. it very well means living or dying and worshipping The Way, Truth and Life or worshipping a clever,but evil, lie..

May He bless your journey out of Babylon more than He has mine..

Joshua in the old testament is not a problem. Joshua in the new testament is not a problem.
The English speaking and reading people appreciate the English language. I know I do..

If an English language bible used the English name Joshua from genesis to revelation, it would not be an inaccuracy..

What is inaccurate is adding two English joshua’s where there were none in place of two Greek/roman/Latin Jesus verses..
Blame the translators for erasing the precious name two times for a name in the same book where there never was one.

But if that name Jesus goes away like those two verses proved can happen, so does the pope... and billy graham,and every christian church denomination..it messes up their music, their sermons,their holy days.it messes up their faith.. like a house of cards, it falls..

And you can’t see it.. I suspect you will be bashing the pope and papacy or catholics in short order on their holy sabbath on the forum..

You probably call it Sunday because the world calls it Sunday..the pope’s calendar you work and worship from confirms this..

Having the name Joshua in the two verses in the New Testament removes any confusion of who is being talked about.

Like I said before. Take your sacred name cult stuff to someone else. The hypocritical accusations and innuendos are rather transparent.

I use Joshua. I have no problem with calling the Messiah, my High Priest ,Joshua.. I speak English, not Greek or Latin.. and my Hebrew is really limited to Yah as in Hallelu Yah, Yah’s salvation and things like El Shaddai,Elohim, El Elyon,Emanu El..
And names like IsaiYah, JeremiYah, ZechariYah, nehemiYah, ObadiYah, zephaniYah in the bible. (My spellings)
Funny how Yah or El can be found in so many names..

Kind of puts into perspective, Blessed is He who comes in the name of YHWH (your bible probably uses the word Lord).. that title Lord kind of misses how important names are in Hebrew...

I want to learn more about His language..not less..

In what I have learned so far, the number six hundred three score and six means something in just the Hebrew letters, if we can believe that entire bible is Hebrew themed. I believe it is a Hebrew themed book..
The only thing Greek/roman/Latin about it is words used..

And then someone found a text where the number 616 was used instead. that number 616,six hundred ten and six, in Hebrew letters means just about the same thing when calculated as 666..

And it is an interesting study.

The ones speaking Greek today are Grecians and Christians (for one word) the only ones really speaking Latin today are professors, lawyers, popes and catholics :)

Being subjected to the pope can be solved..one can remove themselves from the pope’s authority.. it can be done..

I would spend my days hating him and what he represents too if he led my work and worship life like he does for the world.

I mean he is everywhere and that must bug protestants because if it isn’t the pope being asked something, it’s probably joel osteen! and most protestants on the forum have no use for either..

It is almost like the name jesus they all use means nothing to some...I mean Joel osteen and the pope share Christmas, easter and the name Jesus as brothers.. they just worship different..they are all Christians. The name Jesus is sacred to the pope and Joel and probably you since you defend it..

I am not someone who just woke up to this... I met Him as Jesus just as we all do..
And amazingly, He didn’t let me stay there..

And what He can show to anyone who asks,seeks and knocks, is real, unfiltered Truth..He is not a respecter of persons..

And then the world, including religions and hundreds of offshoots, makes perfect sense in this counterfeit world..

And the only thing one feels is sadness that so many can be deceived.. even the very elect.. reading it in scripture is one thing.. seeing it done before one’s eyes is enlightening...

If one realizes Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are a part of a three card monte game the enemy is running, it makes the world a much easier place to understand..

Knowing the enemy and his tactics is how one wins or to put it in a biblical world- overcome...

I now know how hard it is to obey His Commandments in this world and overcome.. the world isn’t set up for His calendar nor His Sabbath.. tough to observe His day when the world doesn’t recognize it and created their own..

You mocked it (His calendar) yourself and yet claim, as a christian, to love Yah with all your heart, mind soul and strength..

If revelation 13 didn’t give us clues as to what the enemy would do and cause with regard to His first four commandments( the ones dealing with worship) , we couldn’t test, prove or pin the traits of the enemy and his followers on specific powers and principalities..

And if one is blessed to see this,they will have a choice that goes deeper than catholic/protestant/Hebrew roots, etc..

I have no problem seeing that the enemy is smarter than I.. He’s been crafting his deceptions a lot longer than I have been alive..

But My teacher has defeated the enemy.. and He will teach anyone willing to learn where they may be being deceived by that enemy when they need not be..

People can worship in spirit and truth..

And if you are following anything the pope does, like a simple thing like the calendar, you are under the authority of the wrong side..
But it would really be a sacrifice to follow our Heavenly Father’s calendar..
It would mean trusting Him and what is in scripture and not the world.

Praise Yah,one need not be a part of religion/cult and can worship Him that made heaven and the earth, the seas and fountains of waters...

Or people can trust the pope and the papacy with their work and worship schedule.

Tomorrow is the second day of His week. The English world gives the glory to the moon..

Scripture tells us what He made on the second day- and it tells us who made the moon.... but the moon gets a day every seven

In a counterfeit world,run by the enemy, that makes sense.

But depending on the events of the day, jews, muslims or maybe the pope or christians as a whole can be the enemy.. three card Monte...

Enjoy your Pope’s sun’s day.. the sun worship hasn’t stopped in these end times.. and some call it a holy day. I am guessing if your are online, it isn’t holy to you..

That is a good sign..

You don’t like the Hebrew calendar in scripture. You like the Roman calendar in the world. .

Fine. So does the pope. ( and so do all of Christianity, and Jews and Hebrew Roots folks and secular humanists and athiests and places like the United Nations and the USA.)

I would give the pope and his denomination a break.. the world is rather dependent on his timekeeping and the religions of judaism and christianity set their Sabbaths by the catholic church’s calendar.. even Muslims tend to have a special day each week, Goddess Friya’s day on it..

I actually can see how the papacy is really influential, not just in christianity, but in the lives of everyone on earth.
Scoff at that or enjoy their system in hypocrisy all you want.

The name, the work and worship schedules for the entire world starts with the pope and papacy.
And from the looks, you are a fan..

that is a ‘you’ problem if you have issues normally with the pope and his christian denomination..

It hits home when the mirror gets turned around and it is no longer at the pope or catholics.
They are supposed to be blind to it..

But the first reformers had no problem pegging the papacy and Rome.. part of why we had the Puritans..they didn’t like the pope’s holy days of December 25 or easter.. I suspect those first Puritans were more ‘hebrew’ than today’s protestants..

Maybe the falling away is right now..and it starts with people having no problem questioning the papacy on their worship instead of questioning what the papacy worships..

Their Mary points to your Jesus.. she has been quoted in those 15 promises for praying the rosary and a simple test can be done..
I think scripture confirms she is a lying spirit. you can’t afford to think that if she points to your savior..

Unless you think they have a different Jesus? Or someone disguised as the real Jesus?

If that is the case, then you are not that far from me after all. And I am no where near the pope by His Amazing Grace.
