It ties together MSM reporting, last year’s polling, the recent demotion of Cardinal Burke and even a little Vatican II.
The reporter seems credible. If he is right, then this is very serious. While I was correct to characterize the CNN report as part of the misinformation, I was incorrect to minimize its importance.
I don’t think that a wait-and-see attitude is correct anymore. Please see the video report and let me know if you agree.

There is a distinctly South American flavor to all of this.
What we, and everyone it seems, is reacting to are anonymous discussion items. Many are framed as questions.
If I were a cynic I would say that this is a clever media play to get a groundswell of popular support for radical reform. The bishops who would hold to Church doctrine have already been made into homophobic straw men. This feels to me like a South American populist uprising.
Wuerl disappoints me in particular, unlike Solomon, he would cut the baby just to make a point.
I agree with you that there are serious questions. The gradual demotion of Cardinal Burke is very disturbing. And so is the promotion of Cardinal Wuerl.
The Church has been going through a very bad time since Vatican II, and I hate to see a new Pope apparently ready to make things worse instead of better.
Ordinarily, each homosexual act is a mortal sin. Practicing homosexuals are welcome to come to Mass, but they are not welcome to receive Communion in a state of mortal sin—unless they go to confession and make a genuine effort to change their ways.

I forgot to include you in the “To” list, which was a mistake on my part because you post a lot of good information on FR
Regarding the referenced video, with all due respect to Pope Frances, he’s evidently not the Bible-based spiritual leader that he should be imo.
