When I start getting freepmail that crosses over into harassment, I have sometimes used a technique that seems to work. I simply assure the sender their malignant missives will be deleted without being read. Shuts 'em right down. Better if it doesn't happen at all, but some folks just can't walk away from the need to come out on top:

2 Timothy 2:14-16 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. (15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (16) But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

It's like some cases I've had. Sometimes, after both parties have presented their arguments, and the judge is ready to deliberate, the judge will ask, "do you have anything else to add?" And sometimes the very best answer to that is simply "No, your honor, I'm willing to stand pat with what has already been presented." Likewise here, if you know you've covered the bases, and have been faithful to and honest with God's word, what else can be done but let the judge decide?

For my part, I very much like to "win." It goes with the territory of being an attorney. You're only as good as your last victory. But in the instruction of God's word, "victory" isn't defined by being the one who gets the last punch:

2 Timothy 2:24-26 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, (25) In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; (26) And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

So while it is necessary to rebuke error, that's just a tributary to the higher goal of edification, setting forth the clear teaching of the word, with the objective of building up faith in Jesus, Whose name is as wonderful in Greek as it is in Arabic, or Hebrew, or Chinese, or Kurdish, or whatever, because His name is all about Who He is, not the poor croaking sounds we make. When we one day learn the tongues of Angels, even then there will still be no sweeter praise to His holy name, than to recall His amazing love and grace, in that while we were yet sinners, He died in our place, and drew us to Himself with the cords of love.

Too cerebral. I just send them a SPIKE. as in GoldenEye.

An off-thread response to an on thread attack is what the mod has recommended here for years.

When the attacker brings it back to the thread, this is what happens.

The difference I see in this case is that the "judge" changes each day. We are not refuting error here over and over for the sake of those who continue to post those errors but for those who read these posts who change from day to day.
