ME: >So if he is not acting on Christ's behalf he can only be acting on Satan's behalf."<
CATHOLIC: True. It's one or the other.
ME: >"As you admit the pope doesn't always act on behalf of Christ then any claim to authority/teaching he has evaporates."<
CATHOLIC: False. Who can say they are without sin?
ME: Well, the Bible mentions a fellow by the name of Jesus who was without sin. It's why the church is built on Him and not Peter.
We can never question the authority or aims of Jesus. However with man as the pope (a non-biblical office), we must always question why they do what they do.
Catholics add another person to this category of being sinless and that is Mary. See how conflicted the catholic position becomes when you attribute non-Biblical attributes, that is man-made attributes, to Mary.
The Bible clearly teaches Mary was a sinner contrary to catholic doctrine.
I withheld the name of the catholic poster for not wanting to embarrass him/her.
I give praise to God the Father and our Lord and Savior for this exchange.
where???? besides, the Catholic church teaches that she was concieved without sin, not that she never erred throughout her life. She may have had some pretty bad thoughts toward those who were beating and crucifying her Son.
