right, as you wish, a new church, based on the teachings of Emanuel Swedenborg
No one forced her to make a rude comment. I offered 3 times to show her the truth.
If you don’t want to eat your own words....
She said she’s going in for surgery. Like I said, that’s really classy. A Catholic had mentioned a medical problem on another “lively” thread. Several “Prots” offered prayers and wished him well.
Romans 12:9-22
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lords people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for Gods wrath, for it is written: It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord. On the contrary:
If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
"This Church constituted and organized in the world as a society, subsists in the Catholic Church, which is governed by the successor of Peter and by the Bishops in communion with him, although many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside of its visible structure. These elements, as gifts belonging to the Church of Christ, are forces impelling toward catholic unity."
I thought that was most exact. God bless you and your many God-given elements of sanctification and of truth....
You asked about the Bible being banned by the Catholic Church. I told you that if You cite a specific incident or two via freepmail that I will be glad to answer you via freepmail.
That is a post Apostolic historical event.
YOU then asked me to prove this historical event using scripture. I told you that you can't prove post apostolic history using scripture and YOU again repeated your request.
The only logical thing to do was post an absurd example to demonstrate to you the error of your way.
Once again if you Freepmail with a specific incident or two I will be glad explain exactly why the Church banned those translations.
Frankly I freely admit that some translations were banned, and i am proud that the Catholic Church cares so much about the truth and scripture that it is willing to take these hits over the centuries.
I have found that Catholics have been so indoctrinated by the pagan Catholic Church that they have no concept of what the ekklesia of Christ is.
You are wrong.
Well then, explain to us what the word ekklesia means. If you use the word “church” be prepared to see where the originator of that word really is in scripture. Lets see you back up those words “you are wrong”.
You must be talking about Catholic beliefs and Biblical backup. I have yet to see anyone back up their beliefs with Bble verses. It is usually, “tradition says that.”. Phooey on tradition if it is not backed up in God’s Word.
I couldn’t believe someone would make a comment like that. She is sinless but erred???
That is not a question of belief, that is a matter of historical fact.
Cite a specific historical event via freepmail and I will be glad to explain it.
Not to worry. They simply get frustrated from not being able to stand up to the word of God. They need to paint people in boxes because they have no idea what the ekklesia of Christ really is.
2+2=5 is not a sin, it is an error.
Pesky facts getting in the way all the time.
You didn’t recognize scripture with Hebrew and Greek study tools? I’m not surprised.
Reconcile it? Don't be a fool. I don't reconcile it at all. Such actions, by anyone, at any time, were, and are, heinous crimes and damnable sins.
It was proven by John in Revelation that most of the assemblies had already strayed not 50 years after bing formed. Why would anyone trust anyone 300 years later? The Catholic Church can’t prove they stand on the teachings of Christ and the apostles by their own admission. To rely on them is eternal death. And you want to “privately” teach post apostolic doctrine?
Are you afraid of the light that you have to resort to the darkness of “private”?
Reconcile it? Don’t be a fool. I don’t reconcile it at all. Such actions, by anyone, at any time, were, and are, heinous crimes and damnable sins.
Are you saying the Catholic Church has strayed and is not true to the original teachings of the Apostles?
Remember that of Christ's select, right-hand men, his original 12 hand-picked Apostles, one betrayed Him, one thrice denied Him, and 9 others just fled like scalded rats toward the tall grass. Who remained at the foot of the Cross? One --- John -- and Christ's Blessed Mother, Mary. There stood the Church.
"Members of" the Church? We're all --- I am sorry to say this --- sinners.
Members of the Body of Christ are sinners.
A terrible paradox.
But Christ loves this Bride of His, and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless...
The first instance if history, by the way, of the Catholic bishops acting collegially....
