Why would intelligent, successful people give up their careers, alienate their friends, and cause havoc in their families...to become Catholic? Indeed, why would anyone become Catholic?

As an evangelist and author who recently threw my own life into some turmoil by deciding to enter the Catholic Church, I've faced this question a lot lately. That is one reason I decided to make this documentary; it's part of my attempt to try to explain to those closest to me why I would do such a crazy thing.

Convinced isn't just about me, though. Then why in the world did they kill others for wanting their own copy of the Bible? When I was doing genealogy research on my late husband’s ancestors years ago, I was amazed at that. They should have been thrilled that people wanted their own copy unless they had something to hide.

Is that all you can say? I have been able to read for nearly 65 years and have done research for years after finding that info when doing genealogy research. People were burned at the stake for wanting/having their own copies. My bookmarks are on my desktop which I can not use right now. I do not have a clue as to what is wrong with my computer. It is very interesting that y’all can not back up statements made on here. It seems tradition is more important than the Bible.

Nothing is impossible with God. Think about the so-called “good thief” on the cross. As far as we know, there is no record of him having ever been baptized.

So, the “good thief” was obviously a sinner. Was his faith in Christ and Jesus' sacrifice sufficient to get him straight into Heaven or did he need a some “therapeutic” Purgatory torture?
