It's called "milk before meat"...a method of slowly integrating the potential or new convert into the church without scaring them away with suspect teachings and doctrine.
Once they're in, it's much easier to keep them and convince them that they're damned to outer darkness if they reject the church or even speak of what they've learned. Apostates, like me, are damned by TBM's (True believing mormons) for rejecting the church, its doctrines/teachings and most especially, for speaking about that which I have learned while a member.
” What I find interesting is that people find the notion so strange that he might have been married, as if contact with a wife is somehow defiling.”
If he had been married my Sunday School teacher would have told me.
There are some close correlations between holy (sanctified) and other similar words that are a continuing process. Hagiazō means to make holy, that is, (ceremonially) purify or consecrate; (mentally) to venerate: - hallow, be holy, sanctify. Hagios, from which hagiazō is derived means sacred (physically pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially consecrated): - (most) holy (one, thing), saint.
Hagiazō is to be. Hagios is declared.
Although one is derived from the other, they carry two different context. Care should be given to the context of the sentence and the word that is used.
YES, of course....adhering to a belief contrary to the teachings of the true church is what heresy is...what else???
Not at all. On the contrary.... The women of my country in my opinion seem to be more relevent to, and concerned for the success and future of our nation than the wimpish men I see in the America of today. “ALL have sinned” not just men or women. ALL...any persons who would have had a carnal union with Christ, would have brought sin into his sinless nature by them becoming “one flesh”... or do you take what the Bible says with a grain of salt? (man or woman, I guess, to be politically correct as you? Would have) I’d MUCH rather be joined to a woman than a man...FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Where did all that come from? As a man. And a damn fine one at that!, if I do say so, according to my friends and family. I think @ this time in our country’s history women seem to be superior to men. We dudes are about useless these days...We’ve got to get a grip and stop nitpicking each other and get our heads out of our assess and come up with a comprehensive plan of attack right now...screw the PITUS’..(His Pitifulness) I mean POTUS and Capitol Hill’s schedule. We need to take this nation back NOW. I can see us all losing this America we Love and grew up in real fast...I think everyone will be shocked at how far a country can fall in such a short amount of time.... from Mayberry R.F.D to a nation of junkies doing a “breaking bad” thing with app’s that drug them so they can turn a blind eye to the invading hords. No one is better than any one else... People out their, who honestly in their hearts think they are better or more important than others better be working on their salivation with a little more knee knocking and soul searching because it’s coming faster than we think. And it would surely be a rude awakening if one was caught unawares..................Let me see.. 1. NO PARAGRAPHS 2. ARROGANT? THINKING HE DOTH WAXETH POETIC. 3. DUMB ASS 4. AMATURE 5. “NOT A TRUE FREEPER” 6. INCOHERENT RAMBLINGS. 7. BOARING 8. INSIGNIFICANT 9. TOO MUCH HOT AIR TO BOTHER READING...AM I TOO FAR OFF? BUT THE ONLY ONE I CARE ABOUT, OR GIVE ANY KIND OF HOOT ABOUT IS..10. CHRISTIAN...I’M VERY FAR FROM PERFECT BUT YOU CAN’T TAKE THAT ONE AWAY FROM ME? PRAISE THE LORD! SHALOM AND HAPPY ROSH HASHANA!
“Not at all. On the contrary.... “
Did you mean to post to me?
So, Joe Smith successfully defended himself? He was lynched whether or not at one point he fired a gun. He was in jail under the protection of the law.
Elsie, you’re making poor arguments. Lynching doesn’t require a rope.
There are a lot of non-Mormons in jail too. We need evidence of the crimality rate comparing mormons and non-mormons. You’re still making a poor argument.
I’m trying an intervention to help people obsessed by the theological arguments of a belief and extending that to the character of the believers. This intervention has obviously failed with you.
I thought I knew most of the gross doctrinal errors of the Mormons but I missed this one.
Utah, as a state, is 57% Mormon.
I assume that the prison population of ANY state reflects the general population OF it.
Why do YOU call that judgment 'poor'?
And which reply numbers of this thread will a person find evidence of what you are trying to do?
