I'd like to make a couple points from my own experience with the RCC.
As I've said before, everyone in my greater family was a DEVOUT Catholic. The Bible was more like a furnishing in their houses - not used, not read, not understood. Biblically, we were all illiterate.
When I first heard about "the second birth" and the gospel, I was already in the university. I thank God for Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship.
In the "transition period" (while God was working on my 'restoration process'), I would attend a Baptist service with my friends. They'd go to breakfast together (and have fun) and I would run up to meet my "holy obligation" (and not have fun.) I went to the late Mass because of the FEAR that the Holy Roman Catholic Church puts into the minds of its adherents.
One last point regarding the RCC (dis)use of the Bible. My sister (who btw, has the required two-part Catholic name) was a lay teacher in CCD. A couple weeks into the class, the priest warned her not to use the Bible anymore because she was "unqualified". Imagine that!
.
I know: These are my anecdotes. (I have a lot of them!) I do not mean to harm anyone by telling them. I HOPE that someone might be coming to the same kind of realization that I did 40 years ago. Catholicism is wrecking people's lives and leading people away from God's Truth.
Amen?
Amen.
So let it be so!
AMEN!.....
BTW...you mentioned....”FEAR that the Holy Roman Catholic Church puts into the minds of its adherents”....
Interesting you mentioning this as those I’ve met and know who left the catholic church all seem to have that common experience of fear...even from childhood when they’re raised in catholicism.
Very happy God snatched you out of it and you are free to enjoy Jesus as he intended you to.
If she was in error then he should have simply corrected her, ...otherwise we have 'the assurance' that.....
