Pope Francis, "If Mary is not your Mother, you are an orphan!"

Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.

But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:

"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.

As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...

The pictures say everything anyone needs to know. There is no worthy explantation to that junk. Why would anyone want that in a place of worship? I do not understand people who would defend it.

That's because it's all about your own sensibilities and not due to any reasonable understanding of things. If you are feeling scandalized by these pictures then perhaps you should leave the thread.

Catholicism has not changed it's mask for centuries...and it continues to hide behind pomp and window dressing ...relic and idol worship...and anything to distract from the Centrality of Jesus Christ and His message to an unsaved world.

Thank you for you're correction of my 'mispelling'...do feel free to do so in the future if you like. But the fokus is not my spelleng ...it is the visual praktices, "art", and idolatry of the catholic church....such as depicted below

No it's not. It's a couple of things but it is not of the occult. Number one it is showing respect the for those holy people who died, most of them martyrs. Protestants don't understand this because they don't share the experience of the catacombs with Catholics. Simply not a part of their history.

It was also done to keep the bodies together because the cemeteries were filling up with bodies, a lot of them plague victims.

In addition its also done as an architectural equivalent to the fire and brimstone sermon so loved by protestants. To remind us of our mortality. If you don't like it, that's fine but you don't get to call it what it ain't.

What a way to desecrate the dead, putting them up for display.

Those are the remains of real people, who had families. This is for real. It’s not manufactured remains.

Whatever happened to *Rest in Peace*?

How can someone rest in peace when they remains are put up for display like some kind of circus sideshow out of the Twilight Zone?

It really is heart wrenching when you see the people bow and kiss these relics etc.....but sickening when it's the very Priests they honor who are playing them like fiddles.

I have no doubt much of the Priesthood knows full well all the disgusting and twisted stuff which happens...but they are so far into the luxury and perks the church affords many of them they will continue going on even though they themselves know it's a farce.....

That's just baloney....this is desecration 'of a body'...and further 'their graves' as well, because they have to be dug up... and then body parts removed....color it however you want...but it's a sin against God who said..."bury the dead!"....putting 'someone's' heart in a golden glass container to present it as something it's not does not make it Holy, let alone some'thing' to honor ....
