Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.
But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:
"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.
As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...
Read what you said before being so critical.
FOTFLOL!!!! Those are CATHOLIC things.
What an indictment of Catholicism.
Hey, we're not the ones who adorn our churches with statues that we bow down to and pray to. WE don't say rosaries and add all the bells and whistles to our *worship* of God. I don't see Christian pastors dressed in long robes wearing fancy red shoes. Nor do we pray to dead people's body parts.
Take away from the Catholic church all the externals that you mentioned, and no Catholic would recognize it as Catholic.
Of course they’re a changed person. They gave up paganism and idolatry, not incorporated it into the lives claiming that they’re worshiping God by doing it.
In order to join in fellowship with Christ we must first “die” to ourselves so we may be “reborn” in Him. This means we must put away our old ways and abide by His will.
There ain’t no other way, baby!
You did good.
And Christ does not have the power to "de-paganize" these things and use them for His own purposes? I mean, shoot. If that's the case then why use sinful human beings at all to promulgate His Divine Revelation? Since it's all tainted, corrupt and impure. Or maybe it's just a protestant limitation on the power of Christ based on what they consider to be unacceptable according to the dictates of their own preferences.
Which is the more likely scenario, you think?
“He’s a picture posting wizard, there’s got to be a trick. Narses just handed his picture posting crown to him!”
That’s unless you have an adequate silly picture response, Narses. I keep telling you do something with a bear riding a unicycle. You’d have so much silly picture posting cred if you’d use a bear riding a unicycle.
Glad you said this about yourself.
Then perhaps you’d like to use that intelligence now and acknowledge that as Catholics, we believe in Jesus Christ present in the Eucharist which makes us a religion that is centered on Christ.
Is Christ alone sufficient or in a “co-redemtix” in the form of Mary necessary?
None of you seem willing to answer this.
And yet the faith that sustained you through such trauma and loss isn't enough to keep your from deriding the Catholic faith?
Direct translation of the Greek.God talking to Satan.
Genesis 3:15 and enmity I put between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; he doth bruise thee -- the head, and thou dost bruise him -- the heel.'
He not she will bruise the serpents head. Catholics depicting Mary with her foot on the serpent contradicts scripture.
Wow. You know, it just hit me. How fickle the faith of a protestant. They are so obsessed with statues, rosaries, garments, pagan practices, Harry Potter you name it. They are so focused on externalities because they really have no faith in the power of Christ.

FOTFLOL!!!! Those are CATHOLIC things.
They really ought to add a statue of Spongebob Squarepants. It’s high-time for a Patron Saint of Bikini Bottom.
More silly pictures from the “No Trick” Pony!
I don’t see a bear on a unicycle. You’re letting us down!
On the contrary, you call Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle pagans, and you blame the Catholic Church for drawing on them because they are pagans. Your clear meaning is that that makes the Catholic Church pagan. Nonsense.
I didn’t get one yet on this thread. You must be special!
As it's been said. Where there is the Eucharist, there is the Catholic Church. Universality is a concept that protestants haven't come to understand yet.
He said to reject “detestable practices.” His consistent command has been to turn away from idols and abominable acts.
Why are you so committed to disobeying our savior?
Yes, they just have that "unbloody sacrifice" where they drink real blood.
1 Cor 1:23 but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness,
Mlizzy remember only empty religions have empty crosses.
LOOK! A rabbit!!
