Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.
But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:
"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.
As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...
They refuse to acknowledge that it is faith IN Jesus Christ and not in a “church” (i.e., their own version of it) that places one into Christ’s body, His bride.
Why would they have faith in Jesus Christ? Afterall, “they call the shots.”
If she was in error then he should have simply corrected her, ...otherwise we have 'the assurance' that.....
Maybe you can work in one with a bear riding a unicycle.
...”Billy Graham is liked by Catholics because hes never put them down. Billy Graham has nothing in common with the haters on FR.”......
Billy Graham is a evangelist preacher...not a debater....these threads are more times than not debates, and discussions.
However, Billy Graham has told people if they don’t know Christ you’re going to hell, and that’s pretty brutal speaking for those who don’t want to believe that.
Jesus spoke the truth...it wasn’t a matter if people liked him or not...they NEEDED to hear what He had to say.
***SNICKER***
You’re cereal box lies.....
No scripture is of private interpretation....
Faith in Christ's Church is faith in Christ. Baptism places one into the Body of Christ.
Why would they have faith in Jesus Christ? Afterall, they call the shots.
Christ calls the shots. Catholics obey. Protestants are listening to either themselves or the other guy.
Protestants are orphans. Actually they are more like teenage runaways that anything else. Jesus gave the Catholic Church the authority to make dogmatic pronouncements ex cathedra and that includes the Marian doctrines. I'm sorry protestants don't like it but it's not about what they like.
Once protestants figure it out they'll be able to surrender themselves to Christ fully and grow in holiness.
How many babies have been lost since Lambeth?
Christ calls the shots. Catholics obey. Protestants are listening to either themselves or the other guy.
You’ll have to take that up with NKP_Vet. He said “Catholics were the first Christians and Catholics still call the shots.”
You Catholics seem dismissive of the One from Whom Christianity got its name...
As for me and my house, we shall serve The Lord!
Have you read “Fox’s Book of Martyrs?”
And he's correct. That's because Catholics are in full communion with Christ and the Church He instituted. Christ did not leave us a book and tell us to figure it out for ourselves. He loves us too much for that. He left us His Church. With the Divine guarantee to lead us into all truth and that the gates of Hell will not prevail against it. No other denomination, confession, or individual interpretation has that guarantee.

Not at all. Everything we are is centered on Christ. That Catholic Church is Christ and Christ is the Catholic Church. The mystical Body of Christ which binds all of His people together. All of the angels and Saints in Heaven, our bretheren in Purgatory and those of us who remain here on Earth. All connected.
As for me and my house, we shall serve The Lord!
I always find it interesting when a protestant uses this phrase. For it assumes that the party they are addressing is not. I remember what I called this earlier in the thread: Jesus for me but not for thee. Unless I should agree with an individual's interpretation of Sacred Scripture. In actuality it's a self-serving phrase which is not of Jesus and does Him no service.
Sorry. Meant to ping you since I mentioned you.
More from the proddy illiterati:
In the Religion forum, on a thread titled Pope Francis, “If Mary is not your Mother, you are an orphan!”, caww wrote:

BWAHAHAHahaha.....
I kinda feel sorry for you and others. We are not orphans. We are Children of God from the time we accept Him as our Savior.
All because someone preached the Gospel to him.
(Rom 10:12ff) For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?" So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Billy Graham must have beautiful feet!
“They refuse to acknowledge that it is faith IN Jesus Christ and not in a church
The Catholic Church is the body of Christ. Christ “is the head of the body. You hate the Catholic Church you hate Christ.
“However, Billy Graham has told people if they dont know Christ youre going to hell, and thats pretty brutal speaking for those who dont want to believe that”.
Billy Graham would usually end all his revivals by telling everyone in the crowd, whether it might be Baptists, Methodists, Evangelicals, Catholics, to “go back to your churches and serve the Lord”!! He never told Catholics they needed to convert or they were going to hell.
