You are straining credulity.

Everyone knows the translation from Hebrew (shining) into the Vulgate (horns) was responsible for Moses having horns.

Look at Michelangelo's Mose.

Those horns were the fault of the Catholic mistranslation of the Hebrew.

Please stop with the defense of Catholicism and drop to the REAL subject matter...the Cross and the Blood of Jesus.

I have Faith the the Catholic Church is the One True Church. No hidden agendas. That does inform my reasoning.

I also know that the inspiration of the Scripture extends only to the originals in the original languages. My faith doesn't ride on Jerome's translation being flawless, but I put FAR less faith in the moderns. That is largely a judgment call made by humans. It is also a reason why I believe that a Church, founded by Christ, for the literate and illiterate, existing well before the Canon was completed, and certainly authoritative in letting us know what IS Canon, is the teacher, and not Scripture alone.

We are all in this boat together, and it could just be that I weigh different criteria differently, but I was NOT being disingenuous or even Jesuitical. We all know bad times are coming and I am hopeful that God will judge each of us mercifully and give us the Faith and Love of Him need for Salvation, which is seeing Him as He is, the ultimate Truth. Do understand that when other posters tell me that ANYone who reads the NT will see that THIS (This being "X") IS EXCRUCIATINGLY OBVIOUS and would agree with ME, and I don't, I know it isn't because many, many people (who believe in the inspiration of Scripture and may have even read some of it) DON'T find it obvious.

There will be a worldwide violent persecution of all Christianity at some point, and I am hopeful we will defend each other while still defending the Truth, asking the Holy Ghost to make it clear to all of us acting in goof faith and open to His Grace.
