KING: What if youre Jewish or Muslim, you dont accept Christ at all?
OSTEEN: You know, Im very careful about saying who would and wouldnt go to heaven. I dont know ...
KING: If you believe you have to believe in Christ? Theyre wrong, arent they?
“OSTEEN: Well, I dont know if I believe theyre wrong. I believe heres what the Bible teaches and from the Christian faith this is what I believe. But I just think that only God with (sic) judge a persons heart. I spent a lot of time in India with my father. I dont know all about their religion. But I know they love God. And I dont know. Ive seen their sincerity. So I dont know. I know for me, and what the Bible teaches, I want to have a relationship with Jesus”
If you read the above he sure does not give a strong statement about the Lordship of Jesus. He stated he had seen the sincerity of the love of God in the heart of Indian’s, so he doesn’t know. There are Indians who do have Jesus in their heart and their are many who don’t. I can not see a persons heart like the Father can but to make a blanket statement saying that they love their particular god may get them to heaven is just flat wrong!
Where does he make this blanket statement?
KING: If you believe you have to believe in Christ? Theyre wrong, arent they?
OSTEEN: Well, I dont know if I believe theyre wrong.
Now do you understand why some of us are very skeptical of Osteen’s teachings.
