You're close. Only those who have there sins covered by faith in Christ Jesus will go. And those who actively practice sin, as mentioned before, are not going because that is not saving faith.
Many believe that they can continue practicing sin and living in it and still go to heaven. That just isn't the case. Someone with faith doesn't like sin and doesn't want to practice it.
The good news is that anyone confessing practicing sin, repenting of it, and requesting cleansing from it by faith in Christ Jesus will receive it and be delivered from it.
