The Fox News analyst who made headlines last December for saying she personally met Jesus is now entering the battle over homosexual relationships, suggesting U.S. Christians could support the concept.
Could there be a future where most American Christians support same-sex relationships? asks Kirsten Powers, a former atheist who went public with her conversion to Christianity last year.
If so, it will be due to the emergence of conservative Christians who say orthodox believers can support life-long, monogamous gay relationships without undermining their commitment to biblical authority.
In her column in USA Today, Powers mentions by name evangelical Matthew Vines, the homosexual author of the new book, God and the Gay Christian, as well as New Testament scholar James Brownson, who wrote the 2013 book Bible, Gender, Sexuality.
Powers says Brownson told her: Male-male sex in the ancient world was episodic. It was mainly young boys with older men or male slaves and masters. It was not mutual. These were not relationships, they were not marriage and they were not meant to turn into marriage.
Powers says the issue is not molding biblical teaching to satisfy a personal belief.

as for discrimination, what is that? Not celebrating immoral behavior is now "discrimination"?
I say what Pope Francis said (tagline)
That was Paul addressing an actual situation in the church at Corinth, what this has to do with Kristen Powers, I’m not sure. At any rate, unless you know her personally, there is no counsel or instruction you can give her. Your only real option is to pray for her.
One thing I find disturving among Christians is how we consistently pick at the speck in the eye of others while ignoring the log in our own. None of us in this life have arrived and none will ever achieve perfection in belief, words, and deeds. Our mission should not be to find ways to exclude others from the Kingdom of Heaven, but always with love and mercy look for ways to encourage our brothers and sisters into a deeper understanding and relationship with our Creator.
Wikipedia also has entries that try to say it was normal in places like Greece, all based on art no less. Look at America’s art, does it bear any resemblance to reality??
The Bible does not tell us to ignore sin and tolerate it.
I have never understood ‘what part of Romans Chapter 1 vs 18-32’ they don’t understand.
When Paul says they have refused to acknowledge God, and therefore God has given them up to their own wicked desires, he is speaking to those who violate their sexual orientation, those that go against their natural desire. But a homosexual's natural desire is for the same sex. Therefore this verse doesn't speak of them. In fact, if you encourage a 'constitutional homosexual' to become heterosexual you are violating this passage.
[ They "exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural" (v26)]
Therefore, the wrath of God rightly falls on them (v18), they are worthy of death (v32), they are without excuse (v20).
Therefore never try to change somebody's inbuilt sexual orientation.
Here are the specific words Paul uses to describe this sin of going against one's real sexual orientation:
An impurity and dishonoring to the body (v24)
A degrading passion that's unnatural (v29)
An indecent act and an error (v27)
Not proper and the product of a depraved mind (v28)
Heterosexual people often take up a "situational homosexuality" especially in a sexually segregated environment: girls' school, boys' school, prison, boot camp. Paul wold say that's wrong, because they're turning against their nature. According to Paul, behavior going against your nature is evidence of active, persistent rebellion against God.
. God's conclusion: there's "no excuse" for going against your own natural orientation.(2 verses). 1:26-27 "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another..."
This involves two things: turning against your own innate sexual orientation, and/or acting on the basis of sinful lust. Neither of these is applicable to a person who never turned away from their natural function; nor did they act on the basis of degrading passion or lust. It does not apply to someone who IS acting on the basis of a grateful, trusting acceptance of their own nature, motivated by sincere love and commitment, i.e. gay marriage.
Mind you, this is not my argument. This is one you could pick up at any "Gay Christian" site, which is worth a google if you're interested.
My own view is below (tagline)
This is what happens when people start looking at dime store novels for their theology rather than looking at the word of God.
=======================================
All true but I deprecate the word QUEER, as it USED to be a good English word for usage.
Now, it's for male homosexuals. And I hate the idea of such a good word HIJACKED by a small group of people.
.5-1.5% of the population is NOT heterosexual but it's enough to give the appearance of an upside down world,
ANYTHING but heterosexuality is a sin, that includes:
-- male homosexuals, you call QUEERS,
-- female homosexuals, called lesbians,
-- bisexuals..and
-- non-sexuals.
Those are ALL sins, not just the ones you hate.
AND I don't plan on casting any stones as I remember well in the movie scene from SON OF GOD where Jesus told the crowd that was about to stone an adulteress to death: Let you who is without sin cast the first stone.
No one said a word. The oldest men were the first to drop their stones and walk away.
The adulteress was saved and Jesus told her to "Go and sin no more."
I've heard the story umpteen times but to SEE it and HEAR it acted out made it really come home to me.

NON-heterosexuals need our prayers, not our screeds.
God bless you and yours on this Lord's Day.
“That was Paul addressing an actual situation in the church at Corinth, what this has to do with Kristen Powers, Im not sure.”
If it had application only to Corinth, it would not be in God’s Word.
“None of us in this life have arrived and none will ever achieve perfection in belief, words, and deeds.”
I’m not asking for perfection. I’m saying she is openly advocating that Christians accept and live in sin proudly. She is advocating for Christians to accept practicing, unrepentant homosexuals as members of Christ, and there is no chance that is God’s will. Further, she has had enough years where she supposedly was a Christian, during which she has been questioned on this subject, to know full well what God’s Word says - and she is rejecting the Word of God for Liberalism.
I can pray for her repentance, but I can also publicly condemn her for embracing evil and rejecting God’s clear commands.
“When you find men who have been enlightened, who have experienced salvation and received the Holy Spirit, who have known the wholesome nourishment of the Word of God and touched the spiritual resources of the eternal world and who then fall away, it proves impossible to make them repent as they did at first. For they are re-crucifying the Son of God in their own souls, and by their conduct exposing him to shame and contempt. Ground which absorbs the rain that is constantly falling upon it and produces plants which are useful to those who cultivate it, is ground which has the blessing of God. But ground which produces nothing but thorns and thistles is of no value and is bound sooner or later to be condemnedthe only thing to do is to burn it clean.” - Hebrews 6
She needs to repent ASAP, and Christians have a duty to say so.
Who knows? I hope not.
I have no need to read their excuses....I’ll stick with God’s word.
Young beautiful women get forgiven ANYTHING, ALL THE TIME because they are young, beautiful women. If she aborted YOUR child, would you still be so forgiving? Doubtful.
When the blondie princess teaches HER CHILDREN the same sinful ways of living, it won't be so forgivable, will it?
When she old, fat, haggy, saggy and baggy she won't be forgiven ANYTHING because she won't be "YOUNG and BEAUTFUL" any more. Lol. That's life. :o)
“Gayla: Exactly to the point. God does connect his Scriptural condemnation to sex expressed in idolatry, forcible rape, temple prostitution, and soft people addicted to luxury (”malakoi”). He made this distinction so we could see it’s exploitative sex He objects to, not loving marital sex.”
Here is the problem with Gayla’s argument: It is false. Period. It is not a true statement. God makes no distinction, and His Word is clear. Someone who rejects the clear and obvious teaching of God’s Word is NOT following the Holy Spirit, and Hebrews makes it clear that rejecting God after tasting Him and knowing He is good is a very dangerous thing!
The problem with playing “just the tip”, in politics as elsewhere, is that predictably, it’s never, ever just the tip.
The things in your Post 22.
I’m not sure if your comment is directed at me, or if your screen name is exactly what you are.
Yep.
No. Kirsten is part of the fifth column.
