In what way is this either a lie or a truth? It was simply a command, not a statement of fact or even a promise.

i don’t think God was intent on letting abraham kill his son... but to make abraham think so, well, let’s just say i will have to ask the good Lord about that one... from far away from the pearly gates, i know... but i will say i have a slight problem with that one.

If one reads the story closely the reasons are always given. “now I know that you fear me................” is Gods summary of the whole thing. It suggests that we should all know a little bit about fearing God.
