it’s a spiritual war between the kingdom of Satan and the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Satan was bound at the cross, meaning he could not frustrate the preaching of the word of God and the fulfilling of the great commission to baptize and teach all nations. Jesus said in Matthew 12:29, or how can you enter a strong mans house and plunder his goods unless you bind the strong man”
when the Church has gone out into the pagan world the last 2,000 years, Satan was in control of these areas and Satan had to be bound for the Church, by the power and protection of the Holy Spirit, to plunder his house.
now, as Satan is loosed for a short while, we can see the increase in sin and wickedness and the corresponding falling away from the true Church.
