Magic Underwear & Magic Food

Mormons have some really weird beliefs. For example, many (all) Mormons believe they (males only) can take a cooking/salad oil, pour just a small drop on the crown of your head and their god will heal them of almost anything.

Mormons believe that by wearing ugly underwear bought from a specific company, their god will protect them from harm.

Mormons believe that by wearing a really weird looking costume they are taught secret ways to touch angels so after they die, the angels will let Mormons get into heaven quicker.

Mormons believe their god requires women to not wear outer clothing that covers their crotch (pants) to worship their god in a large and spacious room (chapel).

Mormons believe that a little torn piece of bread and a small sip of water that has been chanted over and then swallowed will require their god to forgive them for their sins.

Mormons believe by consuming certain foods and wearing funny looking clothes god loves them more than the rest of the humans.

It is the same with all parents. We love our children more or less depending upon how ugly their clothes are and how they consume small bits of food items.

The Mormon god must have a sense of humor watching his "SPECIAl" children called Mormons think this makes god love them the most.

Mittens has been floating the possibility of returning through his hired henchmen in the media. I remember hearing a bunch of them apparently going on radio programs or doing interviews talking about Mitt coming back.

If Chris Christie doesn't run, Mittens probably will. It's clear he's thinking about it or has already decided.

All of those scriptures except the last three were wrote by Paul, who had the very same credentials as Joseph Smith had, which is he is his own witness.

Paul's witness include the miraculous powers of the Holy Spirit working through him. He was also endorsed by all of the Apostles.

Who would you rather have move into your neighborhood? A group of muzzies, or a group of Mormons?

Depends on the Muslims. If it's the Kurds, I would gladly have them in my neighborhood.

“I’ll put it this way. I don’t believe a single word written by Joseph Smith or his followers when it departs from the Word of God as recorded in the Holy Bible

and I’m not thrilled about people coming here to preach some false gospel from the pages of Free Republic.

I see the first part the same way as you do but I look at the second part a little different because this is a religious thread and religion very seldom has anything to do with the Gospel of Christ.

Honestly, we are a dumb country sometimes.

We sure are, maybe the freedom we had and the easy living is not as good for us as we would like.

This is nonsense. The LDS is polytheistic, and teaching that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three different gods,

The simple truth is not good enough for most people and these people in the religious world are just taking advantage of the pagan love for ritual which is where religion comes from.

Polytheistic is not my belief but will it send them to hell?

If it does then I have no doubt the rest of us are in just as much trouble because of our beliefs in other things that may not be true.

Don`t get me wrong, I am not defending Joseph Smith, I believe he was a false prophet, I just happen to believe the great harlot in revelation 17 is the Church and it includes all of the organized Christian religions.

Without a doubt, it is a damnable belief:

Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

If it does then I have no doubt the rest of us are in just as much trouble because of our beliefs in other things that may not be true.

How about you name them?

Chapter and verse?

It does not appear that he even met most of the apostles.

He was his own witness on that.

Looks like you yourself are most likely a member of a religious cult. Paul's miracles are documented in the Book of Acts, not just his own writings. It is also absurd to dismiss Paul's own testimony. His writings are the earliest writings of the New Testament. If the other Apostles thought he was a liar and that his claims were false, they would have said so, and there would have been division in the church between Paul and the Apostles early on. None exists.

It does not appear that he even met most of the apostles.

Paul met with the "Apostles and elders" of the church, at least John, Peter and James (maybe more) as we read in Acts 15. He also reports these three gave him the "right hand of fellowship" in Gal 2:9. Peter, in his epistle, endorses Paul's writings as holy scripture in 2 Peter 3.

They’re nice looking people.

You have already posted on their white blond attractiveness, on this thread, at least once.

True

John and peter are far from being all of the apostles

No more than it would to dismiss Joe Smith`s.

and there would have been division in the church between Paul and the Apostles early on.>>>>>>

We don`t know who the divisions were with but we do know he did have divisions with the Churches in Asia, we also know that some did not believe him to be an apostle. 2 timothy 1:15 1 Corinthians 9:2 and 3

Peter, in his epistle, endorses Paul’s writings as holy scripture in 2 Peter 3.>>>>>>>

I must have missed the part about it being holy scripture.

I must have missed the part about it being holy scripture.

"And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. (2Pe 3:15-16)

John and peter are far from being all of the apostles

John, Peter and James, and all the other Apostles and Elders by default, as explained already.

True

Then the debate is over, unless the Apostles aren't the true Apostles either.

We don`t know who the divisions were with but we do know he did have divisions with the Churches in Asia

There have been divisions in every age. But they have to answer to God, as you will too.

Catholics believe anointing with oil may cure the sick. And receiving bread and wine is receiving the actual body and blood of Christ. We don't use temple garments, but wearing a cloth scapular or the modern version, a medal, will keep you safe. And don't forget the St Christopher medal.

Ridiculing religion by using concrete thinking for deeply symbolic actions shows a lack of understanding for human nature.

Given all the superstition and magical thinking in the secular community about diet etc I agree with that sardonic jewish carpenter to remove the log from your own eye before taking the splinter out of your neighbor's eye.

That is agreeable but we do not know if Paul even said anything about polytheism to the Galatian’s.

Also if you keep on reading you can see a division between Paul and the Galatians.

How about you name them?>>>>>>

If I believed that people will go to hell for believing that there are three in the Godhead instead of just one then I would also have to believe I would go to hell if I was wrong.

Jesus told us how he would separate the sheep from the goats in Matthew 25:31-46 and that means Mormons, Catholics, Protestants, or any other believers.

That is agreeable but we do not know if Paul even said anything about polytheism to the Galatian’s.

That's stupid for two reasons:

1) You deny the authenticity of Paul's writings without giving any reason to.

2) Paul is a Jew, and Jews are monotheists.

Consequently, unless you believe the scripture is silent on monotheism, then you must confess that such false teaching is damnable, whether you like it or not. If I believed that people will go to hell for believing that there are three in the Godhead instead of just one then I would also have to believe I would go to hell

I assure you, hell is where all those who deny the Trinity or who are polytheists go.

Does not say holy scripture though ,does it?

John, Peter and James, and all the other Apostles and Elders by default, as explained already.

James was not an apostle and did not even claim to be, and I do not automatically accept what you call default.

There have been divisions in every age. But they have to answer to God, as you will too.

God knows me better than I know myself so why would he be asking a dummy like me any thing, maybe he should ask you.
